Assessment For Retreatment with TACE (ART) Score
Assessment for Retreatment with TACE (ART) Score is an assessment tool used to determine the suitability of retreatment with trans-arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Patient with a score of 2.5 or more prior to Re TACE may not benefit from the procedure.
ART score was developed using the radiologic EASL-response criteria (PR = greater than 50% tumor reduction) rather than mRECIST criteria (PR = greater than 30% tumor reduction). ¹
Parameters | Points |
---|---|
Absence of radiological response | 1 Point |
AST (aspartate aminotransferase) increase > 25% | 4 Points |
Child-Pugh Score increase by: 1 Point 2 Points | 1.5 Points 3 Points |
Total | 0-1.5 = Excellent Prognosis after Re TACE ≥ 2.5 = Dismal Prognosis after Re TACE |
